In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, Pennsylvania plans to honor individuals from across the commonwealth for exceptional contributions to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. We want to recognize those professionals, volunteers, and everyday heroes among us who keep our children safe. Nominations for this recognition are welcome from schools, government agencies, community organizations, private practitioners, churches, and other concerned individuals and groups.
Join us at the State Capitol to honor the award winners and observe Child Abuse Prevention Month. Nearly 4,300 blue ribbons will be displayed on State Street and on the Capitol grounds, representing the number of reports of suspected child abuse that were made in 2015. The exterior front of the Capitol and the fountain behind the building will be illuminated in blue throughout April.
The event is free and everyone is welcome!
