Mandated Reporter Training - Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse - Allegheny County

This training reviews the elements of child abuse, including the legal definitions of a child, perpetrator, and categories and indicators of abuse. The training provides an overview of mandated reporting obligations, including how to make a report, protections for those who report, and the liability for failing to report. Participants receive resources and reference materials to take with them after training.

This introductory training prepares child and family professionals to conduct the 9-week parenting program, ACT Raising Safe Kids. ACT is a national, evidence-based, parent education program designed by the American Psychological Association. It focuses on adults who care for and teach children from birth to 8 years old. The program aims to strengthen positive parenting skills by teaching child development, behavior management, tools for positive effective discipline, effective anger and conflict management and media literacy.
