2/15/12 - HARRISBURG, PA—Have you ever seen a parent struggling with a misbehaving child in a store and uncomfortably wondered to yourself if you should say or do something? When does discipline cross the line into abuse? Whose business is it anyway? Most everyone has had that experience and has wondered about such questions at one time or another. Maybe you’ve been concerned that a neighbor has been leaving young children home alone or you’ve seen children in your neighborhood playing unsupervised in the street.

Best-selling author will be keynote speaker at Child Abuse Prevention Month kickoff breakfast April 3 in Harrisburg

2/15/12 - HARRISBURG, PA— Regina Brett, author of The New York Times best-seller God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life’s Little Detours, will be the keynote speaker at the “Protecting PA Kids, Preventing Abuse” annual breakfast on April 3 at the Harrisburg Hilton. The event serves as the kickoff for the observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in Pennsylvania.

2/06/12 - BELLEFONTE, PA—As the director of the Growing in Faith Daycare Center, licensed to care for 80 children at the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, Christine Ebeling was always highly aware of her duty to make a report should she ever encounter the suspicion of child abuse. But when she discovered that someone in her own neighborhood was listed on the Megan’s Law offender registry, she began to think about what the community at large should know about child abuse and how to deal with it. Then came the highly publicized child abuse allegations against a former Penn State assistant football coach in next-door State College.

PFSA executive director named to Pennsylvania Children’s Trust Fund board of directors

1/13/12 - HARRISBURG, PA—Angela M. Liddle, executive director of the Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance (PFSA), has been appointed to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Children’s Trust Fund. She was nominated to the post by Gov. Tom Corbett and confirmed by the state Senate. The board is made up of three members of the state House of Representatives, three members of the state Senate and nine citizens appointed by the governor.
