NEW! Recognizing & Responding to Child Neglect: Half-Day Workshop for UP to 35 Participants
This half-day (3-hour) workshop will assist community professionals to identify, report, and prevent child neglect. The training will help participants to recognize signs of neglect in children and parents or other caregivers, determined when and how to make a referral, understand general protective services and agency procedures, and develop prevention and intervention strategies.
Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse: One-Day Workshop for Up to 30 Participants
This comprehensive one-day (6-hour) program outlines the physical and behavioral indicators of abuse, the proper procedures for reporting, guidelines to working more effectively with local Children and Youth Services agencies, and the key points of the Child Protective Services Law. Appropriate participants are principals, guidance counselors, school social workers, program administrators, supervisors and school nurses-those individuals who are designated to file the report of suspected abuse with the local child protective service agency.
Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse Overview: Half-Day Presentation for UP to 50 Participants
A half-day (3-hour) presentation reviews the elements of child abuse including the legal definitions of a child, perpetrator, categories of abuse, and the associated indicators. The training provides an overview of mandated reporting obligations including how to make a report, protections for those who report, and the liability for failing to report. This format is a perfect in-service training for teachers, child care providers, and other direct service staff.
Responding to Disclosures of Child Abuse: Half-Day Workshop for UP to 35 Participants
This half-day (3-hour) workshop is designed to help professionals understand the importance of their reactions to a disclosure of child abuse and assist them in fashioning a response that is sensitive to the child as well as mindful of the obligation not to taint the child's memory through suggestion, coaching, or coercion.
Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse for the Religious Community: One-Day Workshop for Up to 30 Participants
This comprehensive one-day (6-hour) workshop outlines the physical and behavioral indicators of abuse, illustrates proper procedures for reporting, clarifies issues related to confidential communications to clergy and helps participants to develop strategies to protect children and staff. All sessions focus on the contributions faith communities can make in protecting children from harm. Appropriate participants are clergy, church day care staff, religious professionals and youth program directors.
