PFSA Resources for Mandated Reporters

PFSA has a variety of resources available for purchase to help mandated reporters increase their knowledge about their role and responsibilities under the Child Protective Services Law.

  • “What happened?  A Guide for Professionals on Responding to Disclosures of Child Abuse”  How a professional responds to a disclosure of abuse can be critical. This 10-page guide offers valuable information on how to respond in a sensitive and legally defensible manner.
  • “Now What?  A Guide for Professionals Working with Families and the Child Protective Services System.”  This 13-page guide provides professionals with insight into the protective services system and its processes, and offers tips on how to assist a family to remedy the circumstances that placed their child at risk.
  • “Now What?  A Guide for Parents Working with the Child Protective Services System” – A 14-page easy to understand overview of what a family can expect if there is a report of suspected abuse of a child in their home. This guide offers insights and tips to help a parent address the situation positively.
  • “Documentation Guide” – This laminated reference card contains suggestions for documentation of disclosures of abuse by a child to a staff member of any organization.
  • “Strategies to Prevent and Respond to Incidents of Child Abuse” - a laminated reference card for any organization involved with children; includes suggestions for prevention, education and response to child abuse.
